Rare Oversized French Patisserie Table with San Marino Venato Marble Top c.1880

Rare Oversized French Patisserie Table with San Marino Venato Marble Top c.1880

A striking oversized French Patisserie table. c.1880.

The base is created from undulating curved scrolled wrought iron, now pitted and patinated with a wonderful texture from age.

The top is cut from prized and highly polished ‘San Marino Venato’ marble - an off-white marble punctuated with a variety of colours through it’s expressive veining: from greys, blacks and rusty browns to peach agate crystals visible in deep veins.

The table would have originally been used to create pastry, upon the cool marble top. Its beautiful form and ornate base made it perfect for displaying the finished delicious articles in a patisserie window.
Similar tables could also be found in a boucherie or poissonnier.

Now, the table could be used as a kitchen island, or make an elegant large console table in your interior living space, or as a stunning table for summer dining or display.
